Former Judge Case served on the bench of the 9th Judicial District Court in Montgomery County from 2013 to 2016. Before taking the bench, Former Judge Case was a solo practitioner for a criminal defense firm specializing in criminal cases, and served as assistant district attorney for Galveston County. He received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Louisiana State University and his JD from Tulane University School of Law. Former Judge Case is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the State Bar of Texas, and the State Bar of Georgia.
He is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Academy of Forensic Scientists, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Montgomery County Criminal Lawyer’s Association, the Harris County Criminal Lawyer’s Association, the National College for DUI Defense and DUI Defense Lawyers Association. Former Judge Case is also a certified practitioner in NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and certified in Gas Chromatography by Axion Labs, Inc. Former Judge Case served on the Texas Center for the Judiciary’s DWI Curriculum Committee from 2014 - 2016 and presided over the Montgomery County Drug Court from 2013 - 2016.
